Year 6 – Sledmere Trip
Year 6 visited Sledmere for their Countryside Learning Estate Day, where we were invited to learn about what animals and crops are grown in this country and how they are grown.
We learnt about agricultural machinery (both past and present), how a sheep is sheared, took part in long reining a Shire Horse to move forwards and turn, met sheep, ponies and hens, learnt hands-on about trees and gardening and found out what crops produced which foods.
It was a great day and helped us to find out about the farming world which surrounds us.
