Sports Festival – Year 5
On Tuesday 13th June, Year 5 had an amazing opportunity to take part in the Headlands Summer Sports festival. Luckily, the weather was excellent throughout the day providing perfect sunshine.
Once we arrived, we were taken to the field where the atmosphere was electric with all the surrounding schools gathered together. Soon after, we were introduced to our group leaders and began our wide range of activities including; Rugby, Rounders, Football, Hockey, Gymnastics and even boxing providing rare opportunities to try new sports. Throughout the day, children took part in each event in rotation and they all tried their best in every event- they even received an added extra of an ice-cream! At the end of the day, the children were exhausted from applying full commitment throughout the day and all reported having a great day!
