Learning about Ordnance Survey Maps
In Geography this week Year 5 have been looking at ordnance survey maps. They have been learning how to use a key to find local landmarks and also how to locate things using the grid references. The map they have been looking at is of Whitby and had many items of interest to the children including Dracula’s Trail. Learning to read a map properly uses lots of different skills and helps with spatial awareness and understanding where you are in the world.
