British Science Week
The week commencing 14th of April 2022 was British Science Week and our pupils were busy right across school taking part in wide and varied science. Y3 investigated how reflective different materials are and thought about how that knowledge could be used to help plants in dark places to grow better.
Year 6 were using their Engineering Habits of Mind to reinvent an ultra-modern bicycle- ideas they came up with included hover bikes, and a bike that protects you from adverse weather.
Eco-Committee were checking around school, as usual, that everyone was being as environmentally friendly as possible, including saving energy by turning out lights when the classrooms are empty.
Other children were outside planting seeds to nurture and grow, enjoying a daily mile to keep fit and taking part in science clubs including Maker Education where the children are busy making a wooden name plaque for their bedroom doors.
We love science at Burlington and will continue to share our work via Twitter, the school website, Dojo and the newsletter.
