On Tuesday, 15 children travelled to Doncaster Race Course to visit The Big Bang Science Fair. This was an event with the aim of inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers. Children participated in a variety of events, all with the aim of engaging the children and stimulating their interest in science.
The activities that the children completed were very broad, such as; making an electrical musical instrument using recycled materials, learning how to weld using a welding simulator, wearing a rucksack that a visually impaired person could wear that helps you to navigate and a fossil finding task.
The children also chatted to different businesses about apprenticeships and careers that they could pursue when they are older. They chatted with a company about the equipment that is needed to make pipes and a company that makes safety equipment for cars. They discussed the challenges that the future generations face and ways of always improving their product.
