On Wednesday evening, 8 Burlington Junior School football players travelled to South Hunsley Secondary School, to take part in the second round of the School Sports Partnership football tournament. Burlington were placed in group 3. This group included Snaith and Boothberry. Burlington played both teams twice. Burlington were tremendously unlucky to lose to Boothberry twice with the last kick of the game.

Burlington 1 – 2 Boothberry
Boothberry 1 – 0 Burlington.

Burlington then played two games against Snaith. Again it was the last kick of the game that saw Snaith snatch a draw from the jaws of defeat. In the final game against Snaith, Burlington finally had the luck that is needed in these short games. A wonder goal from Szymon and other goals from Harrison and Harry saw Burlington end on a high with a 3 nil victory.

Burlington 1 – 1 Snaith
Snaith 0 – 3 Burlington.

These results meant that Burlington did not progress to the semi-finals. Well done to all of the boys. We played to our potential in the last game. Thanks to all the parents for your support.
