Year 5 turned into Vikings this week and spent time in a real Viking village. They had to show their strength and willingness to work in the field, to prove to the Lord and Lady of the Manor that they deserved to be allowed to live in the village. The children made clay lamps, baked viking bread on an open fire in the longhouse, saw a real Viking longship and learnt how to be a Viking warrior. They even had to defend the village against an attack from invaders!
Year 5 showed maturity and behaved very well at Murton Park. There were lots of smiles all around. What a great day!
