As part of our Christmas Fair, Burlington Junior School offered the chance to become an Assistant Head for the day. Our winner was Oliver and he spent Friday helping Mrs Beckett around school. He started the morning with a walk around school, visiting all the classes, doing a book scrutiny and then created a post for our school website about Year 3’s library visit.
He spent time seeing how the reception works and of course had playground duty, finally finishing off his day with presenting certificates in our school assembly. Oliver got involved with all the jobs and was a very supportive Assistant Head.
Quotes from Oliver
“I was surprised how hard playground duty was, you have to have eyes everywhere.”
“I enjoyed making the film and checking the books with Mrs Beckett, it was good to see how the handwriting improved.”
“My favourite part was handing out the awards certificates to pupils in final assembly.”
