Children’s author Robin Price visited school on Tuesday and Wednesday to deliver writing workshops based on the plays of William Shakespeare. After an assembly where he talked to us about his work and his range of history-themed books starring cats and dogs, Robin worked with each year group to plan and write short stories inspired by The Tempest (Year 3), Macbeth (Year 4), Romeo and Juliet (Year 5) and Hamlet (Year 6). The children were really enthused by Robin’s lively lessons and produced some super writing. Robin also spent a considerable amount of time signing his postcards and books for the children, answering their questions as he went along.
We have purchased a full set of Robin’s books for our library (which will be delivered soon, as the demand for books was so high that Robin ran out!), so all the children will be able to read the adventures of Spartapuss, Beowuff and Clawdius.
